Two men in my life have been instrumental in my journey to interior design. Both fantastic carpenters, lover of wood, sawdust and their hammer.
My dad and this man Mr. Glenn Henry aka Poppie.
I met Glenn 18 years ago and for the past 18 years I’ve experienced unconditional love, no boundaries, no expectations just love for each other, the gift of friendship and the shared passion for the smell of sawdust, does it get any better than that I ask you!
I learned a lot in his shop, how to lay a subfloor, replace a toilet, install a window that really didn’t fit perfectly (LOL) and so much more.
Poppie and I shared a passion beyond the sawdust, it is called life. He taught me how to enjoy the simple things, the water on the lake, the sounds of the loons, a good drink with just the right amount of ice, what a real friend is and love. He told me once, it is better to be happy than be right.
RIP my dear friend, thank you for all those moments, lessons learned, big and small and for your unconditional love. The student will never forget you xo
