This ol’ Kitchen is New Again
The Challenge: Update the 90’s kitchen while integrating various wood colours & mixed-coloured appliances into the design scheme.
This client called me and said Lori I don’t know where to start, this kitchen has got to go, and it is time. The project started with the design of new cabinets with enhanced functionality and then went from there. My goal was to keep her space well-designed and practical as the kitchen is the focal point for busy families and this project was no exception. Once the cabinet style was finalized and their color choices defined, we went to work on pulling all the supporting characters together. The right correlation of stylish but functional choices for countertop, hardware and backsplash was extremely important as the client’s taste and budget had been well defined in our initial consultation. I encouraged her to replace her flooring and overhead lighting fixtures. This step was a must to ensure symmetry with the new kitchen cabinets. The final touch came with a new wall color that supported the bright and updated space. She now has the extraordinary kitchen make-over that she deserves.
