There are many wonderful folks out there in the field of interior design. Competition is good, it sets the bar a little higher to improve.
Which created the big question ….
How do I improve ?
How could I set myself apart? Did I have to? Wasn’t my talent and witty personality enough to set me apart?
There are so many questions that run through your mind when you want to take your business to the next level. Soooo many questions, sooooo many sleepless nights, wondering, ok what if I try this, what if I try that, NOPE, not doing that , that is just SILLY Lori, YES I am doing that, you GOT IT girl, GREAT idea Lori…and it goes ON AND ON until you are in a twirl and nothing makes sense. Those of you that turn the microscope on your business can relate, it is exhausting!
So I stepped back this June and spent some time examining my business, the good, the bad and the ugly, self refection is not easy… more sleepless nights… argh… but then something clicked. I wanted a different look, the same focus and dedication I give to my clients I now wanted to give to my business presence. How do I do that?
I researched, chatted and listened to experts in business. No one gave me the $100,000 pyramid answer for change, but they all had a similar underlining theme, be consistent but be different. My business was growing nicely so I was doing something right! That was it …I was growing and I wanted my business to reflect the new growth and future growth.
So for the last three months I have been working with a talented group of people, passionate, going above and beyond to assist me, to make me happy, I like happy 🙂
I can’t explain how important branding is (I’ve learned it’s value) don’t be a fool, it is essential. If you don’t believe me, reach out to those in business that have a brand and see what they have to say. I would be curious to hear what they tell you, let me know.
I can tell you just from this experience, surround yourself with like minded people / your tribe and you will be surprised how empowered you become, how rejuvenated you feel and how your business has a new focus – both immediate and long term. Trust me on this one.
So three months later I have a new brand. This new look has brought excitement which has transcended into new future goals for Lori Clarke Interior Design. I hope you follow along on my regular blog posts (yes I promise they will be often) which will provide you with a guide on the nuts and bolts of interior design.
If you know me, you know kudos are always a part of my business so..
BIG shout out to the talented and dedicated team at Kiers Marketing, 761 Union Street Fredericton (now part of my tribe) thank you for taking the time to listen, learn and help create a new vibe for “Lori Clarke Interior Design”.
